Spring Clinic 2010
Apr 9-10

Community Provincials were a great success thanks to the hard work of our membership. There was not one missed game and all went relatively well. Here are some of the comments refs had about the games.

Thanks for Your Support
Ed Harasem Community Assignor.

I asked refs "How did the provincials go?" These are their responses:

Not a problem. It was fun and went really well
hey, first i want to say thanks for letting me ref. i enjoyed it alot. the games went well. the coaches were respectful and we didnt have any big issues that needed addressing. i would love to ref again next season.
Ed, good games. Have had a good time.
thanks for the games.
The games went very well with some very competitive contests.
Thank you for the opportunnity....Intense games last one went to overtime, it was lots of fun
it went great thanks ! :)especially the last game, the bantam final...talk about a gold medal game
No problem. It was a really good time. The first two games were really competitive, and the last game, while not being competitive, was still very entertaining.
Actually it went really well. At least one coach from each game came up to us after saying we refereed a good game. And the quality of play, especially the B-division bronze medal game (2nd game), was just amazing. I'm pretty sure i was calling a mini's game like I would a bantam game. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of play and coaching to get them to that level.
And close games for the most part. Close to 1pt differential up until 4th quarter in 2 of the 3 games.
Pretty good way to end a year i think. It was tons of fun. High pressure playoff atmosphere is always the best!
The first game was a "piece of cake". THe coaches of both teams were disciplined especialy Calwest Boys team
It was fun. Friday night was great. Both games were good. Saturday the coaches we a little intense, but other wise it was good games as well.
Let's do it again next year. Always ready to help out.
The 2 games in LSL went really well. No incidents to report. The players, coaches and the fans (mainly players' parents) all had good things to say about our EBOA officiating calibre.
Thanks to you and the rest of BAsketball alberta for doing a bang up job, at least I didn't have any problems. Everything went well, had a couple of exciting games friday, (midget), both commented on the fact that when parents from teams come up to you and thank you for doing a excellent job, and these were parents from losing and winning teams, makes up for all the times you were called a bum. We worked well on sat, and we didn't have any problems either. So all in all I had a enjoyable weekend
Ed, great games with great people --> coaches, fans, players and of course partners! I handed out 2 unsportsmanlike fouls, but it wasn't anything too excessive.
It was nice to do the "A" side 3rd place game between 2 Calgary teams. I gave it my Best, especially for our fellow Albertans that traveled way up here for the tourney
It went really good! Me and Jesse in the east gym had a tie game…both teams/coaches are so happy.
Exciting finish Saturday with Ken Kha. 2 Calgary teams played in the bronze medal and is a 2 point game finish.
Calgary parents told us that it was the best reffing they have ever seen.
Gold medal game is Sherwood park against ST. Albert. Sherwood park leading by 2 with 16 sec left.
Sherwood park throw in at the endline and St.albert stole the ball and scored….tie game with 10 sec left and both teams has no time out. Sherwood park ball from back court to the front court dribbling and got push… I called a foul wit 4 sec left.
Made 2 free throws…St Albert ball backcourt last shot didn't make the basket and Sherwood Park won.
I thought our games went very well. We called four tight games and it seemed as if everyone was appreciative of it. Thanks for asking.
Hi Ed, very enjoyable, especially on boys' games, very intensive and had good partner made it even greater. Thanks
No problem. It was fun to do those games. The kids all played really really hard. It was lots of running for us becuase it was back and forth and back and forth.
It was good. Those young people are so intense; it was a pleasure just to be there.
Interesting…the parents and coaches are pretty passionate (borderline insane)!
A good experience, decent ball…awesome minor officials.
I would do it again
Great feed back from parents on the losing teams on Saturday!
No problem. It was a really good time. The first two games were really competitive, and the last game, while not being competitive, was still very entertaining.
The tournament was well organizied and the volunteers where helpful. The kids on the clock at Lazerte Saturday needed to be worked with to get the clock starting and stopping at the right time. By the third game they were on track.
The players where great to work with. The games on Friday at Eaton did not have a lot of skill but were fun. The games Saturday at Lazerte had a better skill level and the final game was fairly competitive.
It was awesome didn't know minis was so fast paced in provincials. Thank you for the opportunity. Keep me in mind for community again next year
Parents came up to me at the end to say how well officiated they thought the game was. Winning team? Who knows
Anytime, it went really good. Some of those girls can play.
Everything went well. Got some good feedbacks from the parents and coaches. They were all happy with the games I did.
Really good. the games last night were great. today they wer ok. More blow outs today.
